We live in the farmlands of Idaho. We are a family including 5 kids, animals, and always bird dogs. We have been owned by English Pointers, Setters and GSHs. Each earned a place in our hearts. Our ultimate bird dog would be an instinctual hunter, trainable, and mostly a great family dog and connected companion, with an easy care, low shedding coat. Now we can share our secret we found the package deal in the funny Griffon. Enjoy our pictures and stories. Christy and Elliott

It is time I get back in the routine!
I am not going to lie, this has been a tough season for the Griffon's and our family. But look forward to a burst of energy. True is due on the 25th. We are in the process of breeding both Justice and Honor. So lots of postings, and finally we will get some puppies into new homes. I am only going to allow positive energy to flow.

63 days is the magic number
True is definitely pregnant. It is just like it is supposed to be. Yay, due right around the 25th.
We have changed our strategy due to our recent loss of the last 2 litters and a conversation with Gus's dad. We bred Justice to Chrome today so 63 days or so we should have beautiful Chrome Babies. Honor has started so probably a week behind Justice I will be breeding Chrome to Justice as well.
So when Liberty and Hope cycle next we will AI both dogs to Guss. Those pups should be born May.
Lots happening here, and I have more exciting breedings in the works.

The boys went Hungarian Partridge Hunting today!
A great year for Huns! We took the boys hunting today, and the dogs were able to get a full work out. I like to put a young dog behind Chrome and Honor, both are great at explaining why crowding them on point is not the right thing to do. Limits for Porter, Cache, and Gauge. I forgot the camera but I did get one after their big day.

Outback's You Can't Stand the Truth
Like a little clock, True is starting her breeding cycle...Sooooo Woo Hoo we are going to try Jeb again. This time we are using frozen pop, as Jeb is getting older and the distance is a lot for me right now. If you are counting this will mean roughly 72ish days from now, we should have a litter of True X Jeb babies. These pups should be ready to go Jan 5th and Jan 6th.
Watch the Blog and I will update when I can confirm pregnancies. I do not ultrasound we just wait for a show. Several people are waiting specifically for this coupling so keep your fingers crossed.

Always breed the best you can!
This is Gus The Wonder Dog, Registered name is Wayfarer's Double D. He has some of my dogs original blood lines. We will be using this beautiful guy as a match to Liberty and Hope due to cycle in April. He is a special Griff, so we are going to try to produce some special Griff pups with his assistance. Thanks to Dean Derby for sharing your beautiful boy with us! Dean will keep a puppy and I will as well!

Visitors are always welcome!
We believe our customers should come and enjoy our dogs, and thus encourage visitors. We have had two such couples come our way this week. They get the full experience and a good chance to evaluate the breed, get an idea up close and personal if a Griffon is right for them. I love the chance to visit and play with common kindred spirits. I also believe in full disclosure, you should get to see how our dogs are treated and how your puppy will be raised, a kennel that does not allow that privilege should be suspect for any garbledgoop excuse.
Enjoy a few more of our adult puppy shots from around the US :]

Fun Facts
Some fun facts.
- We have had as few as 3 healthy puppies..
- We once had 15 puppies, all lived!
- One time we had 12 puppies, 11 were female, 1 lucky boy lives in Alaska
- For some reason we get more females than males historically. As you may know gender is determined by the Y Chromosome supplied by the dad :}
- I would say over roughly 2/3rds of our puppies are picked up here in person. Many folks drive hours or have long flights, then still drive 3 hours to get their puppy. I probably fly the other 1/3 all across the States and Canada. I am very interactive and sensitive to my folks that must pick out their puppy online, I dont want them to miss the experience.
- I love every part of the Griffon Raising Process. I love the excitement and drama of birth. I love the genetics and selection of our breeding stock. I love talking to you all, and the continued support we can give. I love seeing you guys with your new family member. I love owning these beautiful, talented and troublesome dogs, I wouldn't have it any other way.
- Birth happens at all hours, my sign is usually lack of interest in food about 12 hours prior to birth, nesting or digging behavior, and being particularly needy. Another indicator is a drop in her normal temperature to something below 100^ normal dog temp is 102 I can relate with all these things personally, I did have 5 children myself.
- As a whole usually puppies arrive roughly about every 30 - 45 minutes, though sometimes a couple are born consecutively, and 1 pup was born a full day after the others had arrived.....that one was a surprise to be sure.
- Mommies that have large litters need help at the end of delivery often they are so tired they barely are able to get the pups pushed out let alone clean them all.
- my least favorite part.... paper work probably, but I stay as on top as possible, it is only not fun when you are behind.
- The circle of life can be very heart wrenching. Just because I have more dogs than most, don't believe for a second that I grieve any less when I lose a dog. I happen to believe they can't actually be gone, too much soul to just be gone. I think they are continuing on in their life journey as a dog somewhere. I hope to meet them again.
